What is Reflexology?
- Reflexology is a focused pressure technique, usually directed at the hands or feet. It is based on a premise that there are zones and
reflexes on the hands and feet which correspond to and are relative to all parts, glands and organs of the body.
History
- Reflexology is a natural healing art that has been traced back to 2500 BC in a physician’s tomb in Egypt. During the same period, China, Japan and India were using this healing art.
How does it work?
- When reflexes are stimulated the body’s natural electrical energy works along the nervous system to clear blockages in the
corresponding zones. A reflexology session breaks up deposits which may interfere with the body’s electrical energy in the nervous system.
What are the benefits?
- Removal of stress and promoting relaxation
- Enhanced circulation
- Assists the body to normalize metabolism naturally
- The body is allowed to return to a state of homeostasis(homeostasis ensures that the body’s internal environment remains steady - mainly under the control of the nervous & endocrine systems)
- Complements all other healing modalities.
